The anthropic principle—which describes the fine-tuning of the constants of physics—stands as one of the most provocative discoveries in astrophysics and is used to make the case that the universe has been designed for a purpose. If the anthropic principle evinces a Creator’s role in the origin and design of the universe, it prompts the question: does the anthropic principle extend beyond physics and astronomy to include chemistry and biochemistry? This presentation makes the case that anthropic coincidences abound in the structure and function of biochemical systems. As it turns out, biochemical systems appear to be fine-tuned, possessing the just-right properties that make them uniquely and ideally fit for life.
