Christianity is now (similar to the early church) charged by many in the west to not only be headless, but also heartless and harmful for the world. As part of "rhetorical apologetics," we need to emphasize ethos and not just logos in showing the goodness as well as the truth of Christianity. By appealing to a broadly accepted set of objective values and goods in the western world that made it great, Christianity is shown to be demonstratively good for civilization. Further, this goodness is best explained by causation from not merely correlation to Christianity. Jesus is the ground for logic and love.
