Many scholars and media today emphasize the role that evangelical Christianity has played in promoting racism. Few, however, grapple with the prevalence of scientific and Darwinian racism in the history of racist ideology. This presentation will draw on material from my new book, Darwinian Racism: How Darwinism Influenced Hitler, Nazism, and White Nationalism to explain the powerful influence of Darwinism on racial ideologies, including Darwin’s own racism, Nazi racism, and today’s white nationalism.
