There’s no shortage of beliefs and theories about extraterrestrial life. People everywhere are looking for honest answers to questions surrounding UFOs (now officially called unidentified aerial phenomena or UAP), life on other planets, and space travel. How do we address these questions with the knowledge derived from our Christian faith? Join us for a compelling evening where we’ll explore these controversial topics with three qualified scholars and then invite the audience to participate in open Q&A.
Brian Huffling What are the most likely and common explanations for unexplained aerial phenomena? How do we assess secret technology, the extraterrestrial hypothesis, the interdimensional hypothesis, and the demonic hypothesis? Dr. Brian Huffling will provide an examination of UAP, arguing that only a small percentage of the reports are truly unidentified objects. He will explain how the various explanations for UAP relate to the Christian faith.
Hugh Ross In the last couple of decades, advancing technology has allowed us to learn more about our universe than ever before. Scientists have discovered thousands of planets orbiting stars other than the Sun, and this knowledge has led to even more questions. Are these planets habitable? Does life exist on any of them? How far can humans travel through space? How do we learn more? Dr. Hugh Ross will unpack these questions while providing the latest data on the plausibility of habitability and space exploration.
Fazale Rana The laws of physics rule out interstellar travel across the universe’s vast distances, making it unlikely that any life-forms are visitors from another star system. But isn’t this conclusion valid only for life as we know it? What if the aliens are different forms of life that we have yet to discover? Dr. Fazale Rana will offer technical reasons why any putative physical life in the universe must be based on water and carbon and why it must be just like life here on Earth.

1 Peter 3:15 exhorts all Christians to always be ready to share good reasons for their faith and hope in Christ with gentleness and respect. The building of gentleness and respect in one’s witness to achieve productive evangelism requires 1) a commitment to develop a broad spectrum of good reasons for one’s Christian faith, 2) a commitment to share those reasons on a regular basis, 3) a focus on developing all the fruits of the Holy Spirit, 4) showing hospitality, active listening, and compassion, 5) developing skills in asking questions that reveal spiritual needs, 6) listening to feedback from fellow believers and non-believers about where one’s gentleness and respect can be improved, and 7) developing awareness of cultural barriers and developing skills in overcoming cultural barriers. **For those live-streaming, click the yellow "video link" button to access the video.

The anthropic principle—which describes the fine-tuning of the constants of physics—stands as one of the most provocative discoveries in astrophysics and is used to make the case that the universe has been designed for a purpose. If the anthropic principle evinces a Creator’s role in the origin and design of the universe, it prompts the question: does the anthropic principle extend beyond physics and astronomy to include chemistry and biochemistry? This presentation makes the case that anthropic coincidences abound in the structure and function of biochemical systems. As it turns out, biochemical systems appear to be fine-tuned, possessing the just-right properties that make them uniquely and ideally fit for life.

The cry for 'social justice' is louder than ever and comes increasingly not just from the political left, but also the right. What should we know about reality to help the poor as Jesus commands? Come to this session to find out.

Christianity is now (similar to the early church) charged by many in the west to not only be headless, but also heartless and harmful for the world. As part of "rhetorical apologetics," we need to emphasize ethos and not just logos in showing the goodness as well as the truth of Christianity. By appealing to a broadly accepted set of objective values and goods in the western world that made it great, Christianity is shown to be demonstratively good for civilization. Further, this goodness is best explained by causation from not merely correlation to Christianity. Jesus is the ground for logic and love.

False teaching has been around since the beginning of the church and there truly is nothing new under the sun. The same confused and false Gospels continue to pop up with slightly different packaging. However, the Gospel is currently under an all-out attack from inside and outside the church. Atheists believe the existence of evil in our world is evidence against Christianity and if God were all-good, then evil would not exist. In doing so, they assume God created the world to be a safe, comfortable, paradise for humans. However, the overall plot of the Bible paints a different picture of God’s purpose for creating. In this talk, I will explain what the Bible says about God’s purpose for creating and how this purpose plays out in the events of the Bible. Would it surprise you to know that God's plan and purpose for each of us is our complete happiness? It's true. But human happiness, properly understood, has to do with becoming who we are meant to be according to the nature God has given us. Tragically, contemporary culture has divorced itself from this understanding and now encourages individuals to fashion their own path to meaning and fulfillment. This mindset is conspicuous everywhere, such as the endless virtue-signaling on social media, the choosing of one's own gender, and even the the shameless political/military power-grabs that fill our news headlines. This talk will look at the what true happiness means from a biblical and philosophical perspective, and also offer some ways to communicate this reality to others in an objective way.

In much of the world, the prevailing view of human origins is steeped in the evolutionary paradigm. According to this view, human beings differ only in degree from other creatures, not kind—a belief that holds the potential to undermine a biblical view of humanity and with it the notion that human beings possess inherent dignity and worth. Yet, an increasing number of scientific studies from primatology, physical anthropology, and archeology are challenging the standard evolutionary view. In other words, there is emerging scientific evidence for human uniqueness and exceptionalism. This presentation suggests a way to integrate these emerging scientific insights and the biblical accounts of human origins and, in doing so, demonstrate the scientific credibility of a biblical understanding of human nature and identity.

The cosmic mass density must be exquisitely fine-tuned for there to be any carbon, nitrogen, or oxygen in the universe. The quantities and proximities to the proto-solar system of asymptotic red giant stars, type II supernovae, hypernovae, and especially neutron star merger events also must be exquisitely fine-tuned to produce the needed quantities of elements heavier than iron that are essential for life and crucial for sustaining civilization. Another feature crucial for advanced life is for the solar system to be born in the most life-hostile part of our galaxy and early in its history ejected into the most life-friendly part of our galaxy.

Many secularists admit that in their worldview human life has no objective value or meaning or purpose. However, they seem to know better, because they often take positions that assume that human life is valuable. In this presentation I will use material from my book, The Death of Humanity: And the Case for Life to explain how we as Christians can appeal to the value of human life to make the case for a loving God who created us in His image.

Evangelicals broadly embrace the doctrine of General Revelation—God’s revelation of Himself in creation. Those truths about God knowable by human reason on the basis of General Revelation comprise Natural Theology. There is a growing (in volume if not in numbers) contingent of evangelicals who are advancing a compromised view of Natural Theology. This session will seek to respond to that contingent.

This presentation highlights the scientific evidence for the biblical prophets’ accuracy and the reliability of the New Testament. It offers insight into prophets’ encounters with God, angels, and their glimpses into the future. Jesus fits perfectly within this prophetic context, which also shows that the Gospels’ portrayal of Jesus is plausible in light of scientific data.

False teaching has been around since the beginning of the church and there truly is nothing new under the sun. The same confused and false Gospels continue to pop up with slightly different packaging. However, the Gospel is currently under an all-out attack from inside and outside the church. This is the time for the apologist to rise up and serve the church, but a new approach may yield better results for the church. In this talk we will look at how we can be faithful servants in our churches and communities, stewarding the gifts God has given us to use in the body.

I will show that atheists are mistaken and that evil plays a major role in God’s plan for humanity.

Is our brain a computer and our mind software? Will robots one day have souls? Will we one day be able to be uploaded to a super computer? These questions and more stem from a very specific view of the nature of the human intellect.
